Peyton must have been taking a sip of water, because I can hear water spray out of her mouth and Kali starts to giggle as if they can hear my conversation. I rush a few steps ahead, only to be stopped dead in my tracks by his next statement.

“And I’m not sticking my dick in you to create said spawn,” he quips. “I need you to be my date to that charity event Thomas and Peyton are going to. Bill is going to be there and I just need to make a small show out of it so he can see that I’m who he’s looking for.”

“So let me get this straight.” A laugh sneaks out as I think about what he’s asking me and how he might actually be drunk right now. That’s the only explanation. “You need me to be your fake girlfriend for the night to show your boss that you’re in a long term happy relationship so he can pass the baton down to you?”

“Well, no. It’s not a baton, it’s a company. And more like fake fiancé so I can–”

“No, I will not be your fake fucking fiancé. Are you drunk?” I exclaim. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Peyton and Kali practically doubling over laughing.

New author to me alert! I was pulled in by the blurb and it’s a MM so i cross my fingers and delved in! Devin is the son of two well known Actor’s in the industry and to rebel he fell into being a Pornstar. He has made a name for himself and has evolved his business. Jarrod plays Hockey and to avoid his issues after a game these two end up on a private resort. They both know each other from school but it’s been a decade since they have seen each other. Devin is Gay but Jarrod has always identified as straight. Spending time together stirs up some emotions and Jarrod is not ready for it! These two have to navigate these emotions and deal with their worlds. I really enjoyed the characters and loved the spicy scenes. The story flowed well and it kept me turning the pages. I am a fan and can’t wait to delve into the series!

This is Book 3 in this series and one book that I was totally on the fence about. We have Kenzie and Lance who were high school sweethearts but once they were going to college Lance broke it off. The love was there but he had his reasons. Fast forward to the present where Kenzie is engaged to the rival of Lance and May the best man win. I went into this book thinking I was not a fan of Kenzie and really thinking she was a mess. One the issue from College and how can you love Will her Fiancé who to me was a Douche? Lance of course wins me over from the cover lol! There are a lot of past memories that come up so don’t feel like you will be lost. Piper rayne did a great job of showing us the past hurts and all the emotions these two had. This is a slow burn and a second chance so in the back of my mind I know there is a HEA so I had to be patient 😂. In true fashion as these ladies always do the slow burn is worth it and My thoughts on Kenzie changed(she isn’t my favorite Heroine but I see her hurt). This is a emotional read and I promise it will be a delight once you hit END!

What happens when one particular moment has you questioning how you feel? Their friends are all talking about those looks between them and maybe there is some merit to what they are saying. Theo is a real standup guy and any girl would be lucky to have his attention. Ellie is curvy woman with some insecurities of her body but has a heart of gold. They have always been solid but now their feelings are different and I am here for it! Watching them on this new journey is warming and exciting! I enjoyed this read and excited to see how the others in the friend group will find their HEA!
